We are seeking an experienced and committed Band 7 Clinical Lead Midwife to join our client’s unique Maternity Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
This is a full-time, 24/7 rota role including night duty and weekends.
You will support the Band 8 Head of Midwifery in service development.
You will work in partnership with the other Band 7 Midwifery Clinical Leads to promote excellent antenatal, intrapartum and post natal care.
The States of Guernsey Maternity Service aims to provide excellent care in a friendly and nurturing environment to give mothers, babies and their families’ personalised care from the early antenatal period, during pregnancy and labour and during the first early days of parenting.
The birth rate is approx 500 per year.
Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale, as above.
The current Guernsey Band 7 salary range is £52,932 to £69,605 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.
The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of the British Isles’ finest and best-kept beaches, a mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbor town in St. Peter’s Port, the island’s capital.
Person requirements:
Registered Midwife with valid NMC registration
Five years current or recent UK experience at Band 6-level or higher and able to practice in all areas of the service including current Labour Ward practice
Demonstrable Senior experience within midwifery including co-ordination of delivery suite and ward areas.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
