We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 8A Nurse Endoscopist to join the busy Endoscopoy Team with our client the major Health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
Reporting to the Lead Nurse for Surgery with Clinical Supervision by the Consultant Gastroenterologist you will will provide specialist knowledge and undertake investigation and treatment in the diagnosis, management and clinical care of patients with Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal disorders.
There is the option for a commencement as a short-term locum contract or directly into a substantively-employed role.
This is a solo role, as the only Nurse Endoscopist in post. Other close relationships will include; Medical Specialist Group, Colorectal Nurse Specialists, Cancer Screening Team, Bowel Cancer Screening Group and Theatre and Day Patient Unit Managers and their teams.
Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The current Guernsey Band 8A salary range is £63,663 to £76,291 plus an annual bonus of £1,517 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.
NB: Current 2022 salary review in process (anticipating 5%)

Person requirements:
RGN or ODP with full registration with the NMC or HCPC as applicable.
Completion of, or working towards an Advanced Practice Endoscopist qualification at Masters level.
Current Nurse Endoscopist practice of at least one year.
Competency in undertaking Upper GI and Colonoscopy procedures; Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy.
