We are seeking a capable and dedicated Band 6A Deputy Ward Manager to join our client’s busy Orthopaedic Surgical Ward team at their major health facility. Our client is situated on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
The Hospital’s Orthopaedic service treats a wide variety of elective and trauma Orthopaedic conditions and comprises an established trauma inpatient ward and a new 9-bedded inpatient unit specifically for elective cases – predominantly hips and knees.
Both units are supported by a seven-bed ITU/ Surgical HDU and a three-bed Medical HDU / CCU, with advanced technology.
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Orthopaedic Ward Manager specifically in the Elective Unit.
Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The Guernsey Band 6A salary from the 1st January is up to £61,055 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person requirements:
Registered Nurse with full registration with the NMC.
Minimum of three year’s post-registration experience in an Orthopaedic Ward setting.
Experienced in taking charge of the Unit in the absence of the Ward Manager, or Deputy
Completion of a Mentorship qualification
