We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the busy Day Procedure Ward team within the major Health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
The Unit comprises; a 19 bedded ward area with additional seated waiting areas for ambulatory patients, a minor operation/procedure room with a two-bedded post anaesthetic recovery unit and an Endoscopy Suite.
Patients attend the unit for a variety of surgical, dental, interventional radiological and other diagnostic procedures including endoscopy.
Ideally you will have some acute surgical experience and any additional experience in Endoscopy, Theatre scrub or Recovery would be an advantage – however, this role also offers opportunity to gain knowledge and skills.
Pre Assessment also forms part of the Ward responsibilities.
Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The current Guernsey Band 5 salary range is £34876 to £44981 plus an annual bonus of £1,517 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person requirements:
Registered Nurse with full registration with the NMC.
Current or recent post-graduate experience in at least one of the following; Surgical Ward, Day Surgery, Endoscopy or Theatres.
Dependant on current staffing numbers, we may be able to consider newly qualified Nurses with a desire to commence their career in a Day Procedure Ward setting.
