We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 3 Support Worker to join the Childrens & Young Peoples Disabilities Short-Break service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

This small home provides excellent 24-hour care and support for Children and Young People aged 4-18 with learning disabilities and some with complex physical needs.
As well as residential short breaks the service provides support to users in their own home or in community setting as well as providing day care in the major school holidays. The staff team are expected to participate in all aspects of the service.
Reporting to the Band 5 Team Leader, you will provide care and support to service-users, out of an overall caseload of approx 35.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scales.
The current Guernsey Band 3 salary range is £24,418 to £30,926 plus an annual bonus of £1,517 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 40% evening/Saturday and 80% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person Requirements:
At least one year current or recent Children’s Disabilities experience
NVQ or equivalent qualification is desirable but there is an opportunity for you to progress through to NVQ 3 or BTech in Positive Behaviour Support.
Personal qualities to include; Reliability, Honesty, Patience, Resilience, Motivation and Leadership skills.
