If you are an international Theatre Practitioner, currently outside the UK you could update us on your current status of UK statutory registration and your eligibility to undertake employment status here – please note however; in line with UK recruitment practice guidelines are not in a position to proceed with recruitment of Nurses, ODPs and other Healthcare Professionals resident in countries identified as ‘red’ or ‘amber’ grading by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
For clarity, the statutory regulators for Operating Theatre Practitioners in the UK are –
Registered Nurses – The UK’s Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) – The UK’s Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
For international applications you should allow at least six and as much as 12 months from start to completion (and being in a position to apply for actual UK roles) with both regulators.
