Recruitment of Healthcare Professionals resident in countries identified as ‘Red’ or ‘Amber’ grading by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
Jarrodean is not a direct employer, we are an agency/recruitment partner working on behalf of Hospitals, Care Homes and other Healthcare employers.
As such, in line with UK government Department of Health & Social Care ‘Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel’ we are not currently in a position to proceed with recruitment of Nurses and other Healthcare Professionals resident in countries identified as ‘red’ or ‘amber’ grading by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List 2023.
We are very conscious of the value of internationally-trained Healthcare Professionals and the skills and experience they bring to the UK Health Service.
We are also mindful of the frustrations this brings when you have completed your UK statutory registration and are finding it difficult to find your first UK role.
Why are some countries deemed to be on the ‘red’ or ‘amber’ list by the WHO?
The countries listed have a UHC Service Coverage Index that is lower than 50 and a density of doctors, nurses and midwives that is below the global median (48.6 per 10,000 population).
But I have applied to Jarrodean directly, you have not ‘targetted’ me?
Jarrodean is not a direct employer, we are an agency/recruitment partner working on behalf of Hospitals, Care Homes and other Healthcare employers.
Isn’t this discrimination?
No it isnt. Proceding with your application would be in breach of UK government Department of Health & Social Care and World Health Organisation guidelines.
What can I do?
Applying to multiple agency vacancies will not alter the above. You should focus your search to direct UK employers such as the NHS, Private Hospital and Care Home groups.
We wish you good luck in your search and perhaps we may be able to assist you in future.
